Oyster Opera Island Resort

Oyster Opera was Started in the year of 2007 . Oyster Opera is promoted by the national award winning farmer GS Gul Mohammed, this is Kerala’s only Theme Village with oyster farming as its theme.He is the first Indian who farmed mussel on coir and parted this technology to the poor locals and now there are 6000 farmer’s majority of them are women. The total production of the mussel for the year 2008-2009 was 20,000 Metric Tones. Oyster Opera is surrounded with mangroves, palm fringed islands and coastal stretches and all flanked by backwaters, thus offering very good views all around. The resort is also blessed with some historical places nearby like Bekal Fort and Parassinikadavu Temple, Ayurvedic treatments, Coracle boat ride, Indoor and outdoor games, house boat and fun fishing gears were added to make this place a complete holiday getaway.

• Dining in Oyster opera : Oyster Opera specializes in seafood, obtained from the fishing communities that surround the island of Thekkekadu. These include delicacies ranging from mussels and fish, to prawns, oyster, clam, vegetables & rice puddings. The spread of vegetarian dishes is as expansive and as deliciously prepared by the in-house chef using seasonal vegetables & curries. All meals are mini buffets, served on a traditional banana leaf.

Oyster Opera is located on the island of Thekkekadu in Padanna in the Kasaragod district. The Chervathur Railway Station is Just 7 kms away from the Resort and Mangalore Airport is 120 kms from the Resort.
