Jamaat Mosque

Jamaat Mosque is located in Malappuram District of Kerala. The mosque is about 280 years old and is built in Hindu Temple architecture. The mosque was built by Hindu family. It is an pilgrimage place for Muslims , women’s are not allowed in the mosque. There is a mausoleum near the mosque which is dedicated to the shaheeds of Mopilla revolt.

It is believed that Hindu Nambi family once forcefully taken the properties of Muslim families residing here , and they cursed the Hindu family. The family members got effected by deadly diseases. To ge rid of the curse and diseases the Hindu family constructed by them which was known as Jammat mosque and today also is known by the same name.

By AirCalicut International Airport is nearest airport to the city located about 25 km from Malappuram.

By Train-Angadipuram railway station is the nearest railway station to the city. Other railway station close to the city are Parappanangadi Railway Station and Tirur Railway Station at a distance of 26 km from the city.

By Road-Malappuram is well connected by roads to other districts of Kerala. Buses from different nearby states are available to the city.
