Mahavishnu Temple located in Thrichittatt in Chenganoor Taluk of Alappuzha is one of the famous Temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu . It is one of the “Divya Desams“, the 108 temples of Vishnu. Stone inscriptions in the temple date it back to the Second Chera Empire (800 – 1102 AD).

It is believed that Yudhistra the eldest brother in Pandavas did his penance here. It is also known by the name of Sri Imayavarappa Perumal Temple.
