Varkala Beach one of the hotspot destination of Kerala located in northern part of the Thiruvananthapuram city of Kerala. Varkala Beach is also known as Papanasam Beach . Papanasam here means to wash away the sins. Varkala is also an important Hindu Pilgrimage place. Sree Janardhana Swami Temple an ancient 2000 years old temple is situated near the Beach. There is a cliff near by the beach called Sivagiri was the final resting place of the Sree Narayana Guru, a great social reformer. The mineral water springs in the Varkala beach is known for its medical value , it is believed that a dip in the water washes away the sins and cures skin ailments.

By Air– Trivandrum International Airport located about 45 km from the beach is the nearest to it.
By Road-Varkala is located in the northern part of Trivandrum and can be easily accessed by any place and the city. Trivandrum being the state capital has a good transport network with other cities of Kerala and India.
By Train–Trivandrum railway station is located about 4 km from Varkala.
