Rajamala Hills are known for its wildlife sanctuary which is located in the Indian state of Kerala. This wildlife habitat is a very popular tourist destination that is located in the Idukki District near Munnar . Rajamala is known as a paradise for tourists, as the place has extreme natural beauty and is shrouded in cloud caressed peaks of the majestic hills surrounding it .

Rajamala Wildlife Sanctuary is a popular spot especially because of Nilgiri Tahr, half of its population in world is in Rajmala only. You can also take a walk through the lush green forests while in Rajamala. The Pothundy Dam is a picturesque locale with facilities for boating and is a nice option as a picnic place. Trekking is one of the options for adventure seekers in the Rajmala hills.

The best time to visit is from August to May.

How to Reach Ramakalmedu

Rajmala is famous for its Nilgiri Tahr living on the top oh these hills. It is located about 15 Km from Munnar famous hill station of Kerala. Reaching here is easy as it is also a popular destination of Kerala State and also it is located near Munnar.

There are frequent buses run by the State Transport Corporation. Hired bicycles are also a great way to explore this green hill station.
