Poduthol

Poduthol is a traditional Kerala Sadya Menu. It is South Indian and Malabar Region Side Dish . Poduthol is made by finely chopping vegetable including cabbage, beans, jackfruit unripe jackfruit , carrot, unripe banana, yardlong bean , bittergourd , Amorphophallus paeoniifolius whitespot giant arum and leaves such as green or red cheera etc . It is generally had with cooked rice during lunch and dinner.It is a customary dish Basically made on Special Occasions such as weddings , Birthday Parties and other ceremonies.

Ingredients

Chopped Vegetable small pieces of Each Vegetables
Turmeric Powder 1 tsp
Chilly Powder 2 tsp
Onion 2 no
Grated Coconut 1 cup
curry leaves few
coconut oil 2 tsp
Garlic Cloves 2 tsp
Oil 1 tsp

How to Make

  • First Step in Cooking Poduthol is finely chopping vegetable, including cabbage, beans, jackfruit unripe jackfruit , carrot, unripe banana, yardlong bean , bittergourd , Amorphophallus paeoniifolius whitespot giant arum and leaves such as green or red cheera , Moringa oleifera , Ipomoea aquatica and Sesbania grandiflora .
  • Add Turmeric Powder , Chilly Powder , Sliced Onion and Grated Coconut into these finely chopped leaves and vegetables mix well.
  • Heat the Oil in a Pan with Low Flame
  • When it Boils Chopped Mixture is put in a hot Pan and stirred until fully cooked.
  • After cooking curry leaves and mustard fried in coconut oil is poured over it along with some cloves of Garlic.

Poduthol is ready to Serve with Cooked Rice
