Rasam or Saaru is an South Indian Soup traditionally made up with tomatoes , tamarind , Onion , Green Chilli and lentils .Tomato Rasam is a quick and easy recipe to make . Rasam is Served with Rice and Some People like to drink rasam as a soup. There are different kinds of Rasam is Made in Kerala among them is Thakkali Rasam , Inji Rasam , Tamarind Saaru , Parupu Rasam , Lemon Rasam and Murungai Poo Rasam etc
Ingredients
| Tomato Medium Size | 3 nos |
| Tamarind(Puli) juice | 1 tbsp |
| Garlic pods | 2 – 3 nos |
| Turmeric powder | 1/2 tsp |
| Rasam powder | 2 tbsp |
| Curry leaves | A few |
| Coriander leaves | A few |
| Oil | 2 tbsp |
| Water | 3 cups |
| Salt | As needed |
| Dry red chillies | 1 no (broken into 2 pieces) |
| Mustard seeds | 1 tsp |
How to Make
- 2 tbsp of oil Heat in Heavy Bottom Pan
- Add Crackle Mustard Seeds , Saute for a while and Red Chillies
- After that Add crushed garlic and stir for few minute.
- Add Chopped tomatoes and salt and stir till the tomatoes blend well.
- Add Turmeric and rasam powder and stir for a few seconds.
- Add the Tamarind Paste and mix well.
- Add Curry leaves, Coriander leaves and water.
- Boli Rasam on low flame for 7 – 10 mins.
- Finally, you can sprinkle Rasam Powder in Rasam Curry
Rasam is ready to Serve with Rice
