Balarama is a Popular Malayalam weekly children\s magazine It is published by the M.M Publications Limited, Malayala Manorama group from Kottayam in kerala.The company was established in the year 1888 by Kandathil Varghese Mappillai at Kottayam . Balarama Magazine was Published as a monthly in 1972 After that it became a fortnightly periodical in November 1984.The weekly played a major role in the development of the children’s literature in Malayalam and helped to promote reading habit in children.The magazine also features special editions of Kalikudda which is the section for small kids, which is highly entertaining and educating for small children. It is currently the 8th most read non-English magazine and 5th most read Malayalam magazine in India.
