Cherthala town lies in the Alappuzha district’s is a place of religion here you will find numerous temples and pilgrimage places all around the town. Cherthala is a major centre of coir industry.A man-made water canal flows across the town.The busy Cherthala market has the vegetable wholesale market and the municipal fish market located near the Muttom Church. There are many things in which tourist can indulge in.

Village Tours– Arror industrial park for seafood exports. It is also one of the fish landing centres. Kadakkarappally a coastal village well known for the famous pilgrim centres, Uzhuva Village

Visiting Pilgrimage Places– Kanichukulangara is for the Bhagavathy temple.Maruthorvattam is very famous for the Sree Dhanwanthari Temple.

Beach-Andhakaranazhy a popular beach locations, a majestic light house stands like a signal tower guiding the seamen during night.

Vemband Lake– Vemband Lake forms back bone of Alappuzha district and is famous tourist spot as many islands and backwaters are connected to it. A must visit place in Cherthala, Alappuzha.

Churches-Kokkothamangalam on the western shore of Vembanad lake famous for a church considered as one of the oldest church of the world.

Island Tours– Pathiramanal a beautiful island in the center of famous Vembanad lake and home to a large flock of migratory birds.

Backwaters Alappuzha is located near the town that is famous backwater destination. Houseboats, cruises , and many more tours can be enjoyed here. Tourist can also watch the famous Nehru Boat race that is organized in the month of August.

Poochakkal– A small island surrounded by backwaters.It is about 14 km from Cherthala.

Thiruvizha– 5 km south-west of Cherthala famous for Shiva temple.
