Places to See In Irinjalakuda

Irinjalakuda located about 20 kilometers southward Thrissur is the most happening town of Kerala that has turned into a commercial and trading hub. The age-old temples belonging to ancient periods, church belonging to the medieval period and modern dams are the major place of tourist destinations. Some of the famous places in thw town are-

Koodalmanikyam temple– The Koodalmanikyam temple is located in the heart of Irinjalakuda town. It is a very old temple with renowned classical cultural style. Near the temple premises, there is an age-old “Tharavadu” or ancestral house built in medieval Kerala style of architecture and settlement. The local devotes attend this particular temple for daily prayer and rituals.

Vishwanathapuram Temple– The Vishwanathapuram temple is located in a sub-town named Tana in Irinjalakuda.This place has historical importance because of this temple. The temple’s annual Shashti mega festival is very popular in this region. There is a glorious St. Thomas Cathedral near this temple.

Aarattupuzha Temple– The Arattupuzha Temple is located in Arattupuzha near Irinjalakuda in Thrissur district in Kerala. This particular temple is nearly 3000 years old. The principal deity of this temple is believed as the embodiment of the divine potential of the great master of Lord Sree Rama’s Guru Vasishta.
