Kannur is located in Northern Kerala and is famous for temples and their festivals. Kannur is an ancient sea port and has a rich history. It was major traded center in ancient time. Kerala Folklore Academy– It is located about 20 km from Kannur in Chirakkal Pond Valapattanam town . You can find here various beautiful colorful costumes and performance too.

Snake Farm– Small snake farm located about 15 km from Kannur its a mini zoo that have various species of Snakes.

Beaches- Muzhappilangad drive in beach is located in Kannur, it is the only Drive in beach of Asia with 5 km long coastline to drive. Beautiful beach and must visit place too. Kizhunna beaches is also located about 10 km from Kannur.Payyambalam Beach, Thottada Beach are also there in the Kannur.

Forts– St. Angelo’s Fort built in 1505 . It is fairly well preserved as a protected monument under the Archaeological Survey of India. Thalassery Fort built by British is lso located in Tellicherry.

Theyyam Ritual– It is famous night-long ritualistic theyyam performance which are only held vicinity of this town only. Must see thing in Kannur.

Azhikkal Ferry– Located about 10 km from Kannur in Azhikode here Valapattanam river joining the Arabian sea. Azhikkal ferry gives a magnificent view of the sunset.
