Kizhthali Siva Temple

Kizhthali Siva Temple is one of the four Tali temples in Kodungallur in Thrissur District of Kerala which is believed to be existed from Perumal reign of Chera Dynasty who were Shiva believers. The main deity of the temple is Lord Shiva and is believed that the idol was installed by Parshurama.

This ancient temple of around 8th century is now only have ruins after the attack Portuguese and the Dutch and after that of Tipu Sultan which destroyed the temples. Now it is a part of Kerala Muziris Heritage Site and is being maintained by Department of Archaeology. Among the many Shiva temples in and around this main temple were Melthali, Nediyathali and Chingapuram Thali.
