Paliam Nalukettu Kerala

Paliam Nalukettu located in chendamangalam where prime ministers of Cochin Kings used to live was established in the year 1786 by senior member of the family for their women and children. Nalukettu is a quadrangle building consisting of four blocks, with a rectangular courtyard in the centre known as the “nadumittam“. It has a big courtyard at the centre with rooms surrounding it and Purathalam, where the members gathered to chat and for recreational activities . There was common dining hall and kitchen where all the members of the family used to dine together . The boys were given separate quarters when they become majors and after the marriage administration used to provide them houses.
