Paravur Jewish Synagogue located in Jewish Street of North Paravur in Ernakulam is another Muziris Heritage site which is a place of worship for the Jewish community who settled here in this region during historic times. About 100 m from Parur on the Kodungalloor road of Kerala it is one of the two Jewish synagogues in Muziris Heritage sites of Kerala. It is believed that this synagogues was worshiping place for Jewish peoples who lived near the Parur market in early Kerala times.
Its decoration of carvings and decor in ceilings is somewhat that of Chendamangalam synagogue and comprises of a double storied entrance building with pillared entryway which leads to main entrance to the prayer place and the main synagogue with an open space. The prayer hall consists of two rooms; a rectangular room generally used for meetings and the other main prayer room with the Bimah and the Ark. There is also a women’s gallery which is located near the balcony in eastern side of the entry to the synagogue.
