Malappuram is a city in Kerala surrounded by Nilgiri Hills and Arabian Sea and was the military headquarters of the Zamorins of Kozhikode since ancient times. It was famous learning place of Hindu. Some of the famous tourist attraction of Malappuram are-

Kottakkal Arya Vaidyasala– Kottakkal is a small town located about 13 Km from Malappuram. It is famous for Kottakkal Arya Vaidyasala which is one of the pioneer institute of Ayurveda in India. Kottakkal is also the land of art and culture of Kerala that is till practised there. Also famous for Venkathethwar Temple where 64 mural paintings adorn the wall of the sanctum sanctorum of this temple dedicated to Lord Shiva.

Padinharekara– It is a beautiful beach in Malappuram and a famous tourist spot . It offers a fascinating view of confluence of the river Bharathapuzha and Tirurpuzha in Arabian Sea. various migratory bird also gather at this beach

Kottakkunnu– Kottakkunnu has a remains of an old fort at the base of cantonment hill. The fort was built by the Zamorine of Kozhikode. Vettakkorumakan temple and Siva temple are located nearby the fort. It is great place to see sunset also.

Manjeri– Manjeri is an important historical place in Malappuram . It was the center of 1921 Muslim Revolution . It is one of the main commercial center of Malappuram.

Kunbham Handicrafts Village– The Kumbharan community members of the village who were traditionally artisians revived the dying art of pottery through the Kunbham Handicraft initiatives . Today their terracotta furniture’s. wall hangings, sculptures, tiles and garden accessories can be found even in five star hotels.

Vakkad Beach– A pristine area , boating in the estuary where the river flows into the sea through Vakkad Beach is a unique experience by itself.
