List of Famous Tourist Destination in Munnar

Atukkad Waterfalls– Atukkad Waterfall is a beautiful waterfall located 5 kms form munnar city. It can be reaches by traveling in Cochin road. The water fall is located in between the dense forest and hills surrounding it. It hardly takes 15 min to reach there.

Pothamedu View Point– Pothamedu View Point is located about 6 km from Munnar and just one kilometer from Headworks Dam, one can capture the beautiful views of tea, coffee and cardamom plantations of the place from here. It is a village located in lush green mountains with soothing environment, a place for nature lovers and adventurers

Chithirapuram– Chithirapuram contains picturesque tea plantation that is known all over the world. It is located about 10 km from Munnar.You will find a glimpse of British era in old playgrounds, courts, tired little cottages, spice nurseries, and sprawling mansions based here

Blossom Park– It is also known as Hydel Park and is located about 3 km form Munnar. The park is spread over 18 acres in area with beautiful gardens with rare species of plants and flowers as well as shady tress. One can enjoy various activities there like cycling, boating, cycling and many more.

Mattupetti Dam– Mattupetti Dam located about 10km from Munnar is a beautiful picnic spot for activities like boating and horse riding. it is a 160 feet high dam and has a vast reservoir that extends along the hill. Cruising and boating facility are available where you can book a boat for alone or for group.It costs Rs 300 if you have to hire a boat for you alone. The ride is for 15 min. Mattupetty is famous for the Indo-Swiss Dairy Farm, a joint venture between India and Switzerland, where over 100 breeds of cattle are reared

Eravikulam National Park– Eravikulam National Park is 97 sq. km. in extent, situated along the crest of the Western Ghats.The main body of the park consists of a high rolling hill plateau with a base elevation of about 2,000 m. The terrain consists of high altitude grasslands. It is the home for Nilgiri Thar an endangered species.

Lockhart Gap– Lockhart Gap is located about 13 km from Munnar and is breathtaking place that is an ideal place for trekking. The fresh mountain air, the mist-clad hills and panoramic view make it worthy of a visit. It offers splendid views of hills covered with lush green plantation and trees

Tea Museum– Tea museum also known as KDHP Tea Museum located 3 km from munnar was the starting of tea history in the beautiful hill station which was goes to time period of 1880.This museum remains open from 10AM-4PM every day, closed on Mon. There is a Rs. 75 ticket fee for adults.Tata Tea opened the Tea Museum which comprises of photographs and machinery, each depicting a turning point that contributed to a flourishing tea industry.
