Edneer Mutt is located about 10 Km from Kasaragod Town towards the Madhuvahini River in northeast . It is dedicated to Dakshinamurthi and Gopalakrishna . The mutt belongs to Totakacharya one of the four main disciples of Samkracharya. Satchidananda Bharati who was the head of this mutt once made this place famous.
Edneer became an important centre of education, arts and culture during the period of Srimadiswarananda Bharathi.
