Mangala Devi Kannagi Temple

Mangala Devi Kannagi Temple is a famous temple on hills bordering the Tamil Nadu and Kerala State of India. The temple is located about 7 Km from Tamil Nadu State and about 15 km from Kerala State in Thekkady. Cheran Chenguttuva the ancient Tamilakam king established this temple around 2000 years ago and named it Kannagi Kottam. The temple is located about 1337 meters above the sea level in the lush green forests of western ghats.

From the top of temple you can see a beautiful view of surrounding area eastern ghats and some villages of Tamil Nadu State.

Mangala Devi Kannagi Temple is closed throughout the year except during the Chitra Pournami festival and special permission is needed from forest officers if they want to see the temple during its closed timings.
