Sasthamkotta

Sasthamkotta is a small village located at the bank of Sasthamkotta Lake in Kollam District of Kerala India. It is about 25 km away from Kollam city. It is famous for a Hindu temple Sasthamcotta Sree Dharma Sastha Temple and largest fresh water lake in Kerala Sasathamkotta Lake.

Shri Dharma Sastha Temple a famous Hindu Temple is also located at the village Sasthamcotta. It is surrounded three sides by the largest fresh water lake of Kerala, Sasthamkotta lake.The Sasthamcotta temple is one among the five ancient Sastha temples in Kerala – AchanKoil, Aryankavu, Kulathupuzha, Sasthamcotta and Sabarimala.

Sasthamkotta Lake is the largest fresh water lake in Kerala is named after the temple located at its bank. The lake is a designated wetland of international importance under the Ramsar Convention.
