Kundara

Kundara is one of the oldest Industrial towns of Kerala located in Ashtamudi Backwaters of Kollam. Kundara is famous for its fish cuisine , it is said that fish caught from backwaters of here is much tastier than it is caught from anywhere else in Kerala. The Backwaters of Ashtamudi Backwaters are the major tourist attraction here in the town. The Tourism Department brings visitors arriving at Kollam come to get a taste of the local marine delicacies.

The town have many religious places like temples and churches like St. Anthony’s Church , St. Mary’s Jacobite Syrian Cathedral, Kundara , Salem Marthoma Church , Elampaloor Temple and many others. Kundara is well connected by road to the national highway NH-208 the Kollam-Theni highway, passes through Kundara.
