Mayyanad situated on the banks of the Paravur lake is located in the south western suburbs of Kollam city about 10 Km away . Mayyanad’s costal line along the Arabian sea is famous for its fishing. Mayyanad have various famous temples , churches and mosques in its vicinity. The most important of the nine temples here is the Subramanya Temple at Umayanallor.
