Vellayani Lake– Vellayani Lake is a fresh water lake located about 7 Km from Kovalam. The lake is famous for the boat race held in this lake. The crystal clear water of the lake gives beautiful view during night. One of the attraction of the lake is that a road passes by it.

Lighthouse Beach– The light house beach is the most visited beach of Kovalam it got its name by a old Vizhinjam Lighthouse located near it. It offers magnificent view of the sea and natural surrounding.Hawa beach is the extended part of Light House beach which is also hot spot place for tourist in Kovalam. There are many shops , restaurants and water sport facility in the beach.

Vizhinjam Anchutengu Fort– This historic fort was built by British East India Company in the 17th century. it is about 36 km from Thiruvanthapuram. The fort was built in 18th century.

Vizhinjam Village– The village is located about 2 km from Kovalam. There is a Cave temple near village which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. A natural port called as Vizhinjam port is also located in the village.Vizhinjam Coast is a natural port and one of the busiest fishing harbours in the Kovalam District .The Vizhinjam bay paints a pretty picture with its colourful motor boats and numerous Country Crafts .

Chowara– Chowara is a fishing village located at the Coast of Arabian Sea about 8 Km from Kovalam. There is an Ayyapa Temple also in the hillock near beach. this peaceful place is a perfect gateway for nature Enthusiasts. An ideal Locale to relax and unwind .
