Vellarimala

Vellarimala is small town that is situated in the state of Kerala, in the Kozhikode district. The town is a popular tourist place in the region and one can experience different tourist activities here. There are numerous waterfalls at many points in the mountains and these are worth visiting as well. It is a part of famous Hill Range Camel ‘s Hump Mountains , a part of Western Ghats. Vellarimala offers adventurous trekking trails to adventure lovers. Olichuchattam waterfalls is situated on the way to Vellarimala hilltop which is fascinating and relaxing place for trekkers and get refreshed.

Some of the other tourist places include a water fall known as Vantawng Khawhltha. The tallest peak in this range is called Vavul Mala. Vellarimala is a destination which can be visited all through the year but the best season for visiting the place is from September to May. Nearest railway station is in Kozhikode city. Accommodation is not a major issue as you can stay at the local guest house or cottages.

How to Reach Vellarimala

Vellarimala is located about Kozhikode about 55 Km away from the city center you can take National highway 766 route from the city . The journey would of max 90 Minutes to the hill station.

By Air– Calicut International Airport is located in the city.

By Road– Kozhikode has a good road network and is well connected by nearby districts of the state. National highway and state highways passes by the district which make road transport efficient and well maintained.

By Railways– Calicut Railway Station is located in Kuttichira . The railway lines of Kozhikode is well connected to other cities of Kerala. From here one can take buses to Vellarimala.
