Ottapalam

Ottapalam is a tow located in Palakkad District of Kerala located along the bank of Bharathappuzha river . The town is known for its rich cultural heritage and many historic events in which this town have played an important role. Palakkad city is located about 35 km from here.

Chinakathoor Kavu Temple is a famous temple located here and is famous for Chinakathoor Pooram festival held every here in the temple. Shoranur Junction is located near the town which is an important railway head of South India railways. Kerala Kalamandalam, the school dedicated to the training and promotion of Kerala’s own traditional art forms, is located in Cheruthuruthy, a few km away from Ottapalam.
