Pathanamthitta is a head quarters of the Pilgrimage tourism as there are many pilgrimage places in the district. The city has various tourist places and ancient pilgrimage places that attracts many tourist. Some of the famous tourist attraction of the city are-

Aranmula Parthasarathy temple– It is one of the oldest temples of Kerala located at the banks of the holy River Pamba. Th Parthasarathy Temple is famous for the Aranmula boat race that takes place during the Onam season . The temple is dedicated to Lord Krishna.

Mannadi Kavu– Mannadi Kavu is famous for Velu Thampi Dalawa reedom fighter. There is a ancient Bhagavathy temple also with exclusive stone sculptures. It is located about 13 km from the city.

Kaviyoor Mahadeva Temple – Kaviyoor Mahadeva Temple a 1000 year old temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva. The tepmle is one of the oldest temples of Kerala built in a unique architectural style. It is located about 5 km east of Tiruvalla Town in Pathanamthitta district.

Trikkukkudi Cave Temple– Temple also known as Rock Cut Temple has a great and ancient Art and Sculpture. The architecture of the temple bears close resemblance to the Pallava style of architecture. The temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva and its establishment dates goes back to 8th century AD.

Malayalapuzha Temple– Malayalapuzha Temple is dedicated to Goddess Durga and is one of the largest Devi temples of South India. Temple has beautiful carved stone and architecture. This temple is famous for the ten day long Padayani performances.

CharalKunnu-CharalKunnu is a beautiful and scenic hill station which offers panoramic view of the low lying areas including river Pamba. It is a peaceful hill station with less hustle bustle of city and an ideal place for relaxing.

Omalloor Raktakantaswami Temple– Omalloor is a small village 5km from Pathanamthitta. It is famous for Raktakantaswami Temple whose deity is Lord Ayyapan.

Niranam church– Niranam church is one of the most important non-Catholic Christian pilgrimage center. It is believed that it was the first church built by St. Thomas when he landed in Kerala.

Konni Elephant Cage– Konni Elephant Cage is located about 11 km from Pathanamthitta. There is an elephant training college and elephant research center located here. Here elephants from the forest are caught and put in wooden cages known as Anakoodu to train them .
