Pattumala is a quaint hill town that is located at a distance of 27 km from Thekkady in the state of Kerala. By Road– Pattumala Hills are located about 17 km east of Peermede and 27 km west of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary . Form Idukki it can be reached via Dindigul – Kottarakkara Rd/Dindigul – Teni – Kottarakkara Highway/Kottayam – Kumali Road/NH 183. Or one can take route Dindigul – Kottarakkara Rd/Dindigul – Teni – Kottarakkara Highway/Kottayam – Kumali Road/NH 183 and SH 40.

By Air– Cochin International Airport is nearest to Wayanad and Vythiri .

By TrainKottayam Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
