Pattumala is a quaint hill town that is located at a distance of 27 km from Thekkady in the state of Kerala. The region is completely made up of hills and the topography makes it an ideal place for engaging in various outdoor activities. The regions surrounding Pattumala has a phenomenal beauty and this is a must see town when you are visiting the state of Kerala.

The town and its surrounding areas are known for tea plantations being home to home to two of the biggest names in the tea production sector – Harrisons Malayalam and A V Thomas & Co.One can visit flower garden and the Velankanni Matha Church built at the top off the hill.

Pattumala is very well connected to the outside world via different modes. The nearest airport is Kochi International Airport, which is around 150 km away from the hill resort. The best time to visit Pattumala is between the months of September to May. Accommodation facilities are not too much in the area but you can opt for nearby resorts and guest houses.

How To Reach Pattumala

Located in Idukki Hilly district of Kerala Pattumala Hills are famous for its enchanting view and shrine of St Marry. National Highway 220 passes nearby Pattumala hills.

By Road– Pattumala Hills are located about 17 km east of Peermede and 27 km west of the Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary . Form Idukki it can be reached via Dindigul – Kottarakkara Rd/Dindigul – Teni – Kottarakkara Highway/Kottayam – Kumali Road/NH 183. Or one can take route Dindigul – Kottarakkara Rd/Dindigul – Teni – Kottarakkara Highway/Kottayam – Kumali Road/NH 183 and SH 40.

By Air– Cochin International Airport is nearest to Wayanad and Vythiri .

By TrainKottayam Railway Station is the nearest railway station.
