Ezhimala is a hilly area about 256 meters above the sea level located in Kannur District of Kerala. It was the capital of Mooshika Kingdom and has a great Historic Importance , the place was also the battlefield of Chola-Chera Kingdom . The hills are noted for rare medicinal herbs.Ezhimala and its valleys constitute Ramanthali Village, a beautiful landscape adjacent to the famous Payyannur Town in Kannur District, Kerala State, where Perumal Temple is situated.
Indian Naval Academy is also located between Mount Dilli and the Kavvayi backwaters is situated in Ezhimala.

How To Reach Ezhimala
Ezhimala NH 17 connects Payyanur with Kannur and Mangalore. There are regular State Government and Private bus services connecting Payyanur to Kannur and Mangalore. The candidates arriving by bus are to disembark at Payyanur bus stand (located within Payyanur town, about 04 km from Railway station).
By Air– Payyanur does not have an airport. The nearest airport is located at Mangalore, 150 km from Payyanur. Indian Airlines and Jet Airways operate services to & from Mangalore. The other airport is at Kozhikode (Calicut), 145 km from Payyanur. Both, Mangalore and Kozhikode, are well connected to Payyanur by road and rail.
By Road– It can be reached via Ramanthali the nearest town to it about 2 km away from here.
By Train– Payyanur Station is the nearest station from here about 8 Km from away
