Arakkal Museum is located in Ayikkara small coastal village near St. Angelo Fort at a distance of around 3 km from Kannur town.The Arakkal Museum is a tribute to the Arakkal family, the only Muslim royal family in Kerala.The Arrakkal museum is owned and managed by the Arakkal Family Trust.The museum is a part of the Arakkalkettu (Arakkal Palace). The hall was renovated and converted to a museum by the government in July 2005 .The cost of the renovation was estimated to be & about INR. 9,000,000. Arakkal Museum showcases the history of their rule and the regional influence of the Arakkal ‘Rajas’ (male rulers). The female rulers were called ‘Beevis’ in their time of authority.
Visiting Time: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Closed on Mondays and all Public Holidays.
The government had taken a lot of interest in preserving the heritage of the Arakkal Family that had played an important role in the history of Malabar.It does not fall under the Archaeological survey of India.A nominal entry fee is charged by the Arakkal family trust from visitors to the museum. Different varieties of heritage objects from the royal family of Arakkal are exhibited in this museum.The Arrakkal Museum is arranged by the departments of Archaeology with the financial assistance provided by the Department of Tourism, Government of Kerala. The Arakkals gained importance in the Malabar region after they secured fort and their association with the kings of Mysore.

Bus Terminal -Kannur is well linked by a wide network of roads and can be reached from anywhere in Kerala.
