Payyambalam Beach or Beypore beach is located in the Payyambalam village of Kannur District about 2 km from Kannur town. Since the first century AD Payyambalam have been the centre for shipbuilding. This peaceful and secluded Payyambalam beach is a famous destination in Kannur and attracts thousands of tourists. The view of sunset and surise that the beach offers is just beautiful to watch. The beach is favorite destination for picnic for the locals and tourists. Many movies has been shot here due to its serene surroundings along the Arabaian Sea.
Payyambalam Beach has a beautiful sculpture of Mother and Child by Kanayi Kunhiraman is other attraction of the beach. The sculpture adds beauty to this beach and lures many tourist to see this piece of art. There is a garden also for children where the youngers can enjoy. October to May is the best time to visit the beach.
