Valapattanam

Valapattanam is a town located in Kannur District of Kerala India. Both Hindu and Muslim dwell here in great harmony . Kalarivathukkal temple and Kakkulangara Mosque are located at close proximity here and are famous among the locals and nearby towns. Also termed as Balyapattanam it is located at the bank of Valapattanam river.

Parassinikadavu Muthappan Temple is also located here at the bank of Valapattanam river. In the bank of Valapattanam river you see Western India Plywoods Ltd., the largest wood-based industry in the country and which was the biggest plywood factory in Asia till few years back. Vallabha II of the Mooshika dynasty was the founder of this town and this town was previously known as Vallabha-Pattanam also.
