Malayattoor Mount located in Ernakulam District of Kerala is famous for the St. Thomas Syro-Malabar Catholic Church in Kurishumudi Hills in Malayattoor . Malyatoor is a small village in the outskirts of Kalady along the bank of River Periyar. Malyattoot is famous for St Thomas Church one of the first seven churches established by St Thomas in India in Kurishumudi Hills. St. Thomas, one of the Apostles of Jesus Christ came here in AD 52 stayed at top of the mountain and had spent days in the abode of God. You can find the footprints of the marks of knees of St. Thomas imprinted on the rock in the mountain.

Kurishumudi also called as Hill of the holy cross is a mountain at Malayattoor, has its fame as a place visited by St. Thomas, one of the Apostles of Jesus Christ. Kurishumudi is where one can find the Golden Cross believed to have formed when St. Thomas knelt on a rock and signed a cross with his finger. He remained there praying for a long time, and ultimately a golden cross appeared on the spot.

By Road– For Malyattoor you have to Kalady from Kalady Head towards Shanthi Nilayam Rd ,At Kalady Police Station, continue onto Kalady Manjapra Rd, then Turn right at Kaippattoor , Pass by Our Lady of Dolours Church (on the right) move towards Panayali Rd than Take the 1st left Continue onto Nettinambilly Rd and Turn right onto Kottamam – Kalambattupuram Rd/Nettinambilly Rd and head toward Pallipetta Junction there comes Padinjare Scholl move little further and take left and you will be at Malyattoor. Kalady can reached via train or road networks .
