The Museum of Kerala History is located around 10 kilometers from ernakulam, Cochin.Kerala History Museum was the brainchild of R Madhavan Nayar, the late managing trustee of the Madhavan Nayar Foundation.This museum is also known as Madhavan Nayar Foundation.The Museum of Kerala History is a part of the Museum of Kerala Art and History which has four sections in all- the museum, a gallery of Paintings and Sculptures, a gallery of Visuals and a Doll Museum.There is a special emphasis on the social, cultural and literary aspects during the narration. The significance of this ‘live’ museum lies in the fact that it recounts the history of the land through magnificent and informative light and sound shows.

The museum is famous for its light and sound show in which the 2000-year-old history of Kerala comes to life in its entire splendor.The paintings gallery encompasses 2000 exquisite paintings and contemporary art by Indian artists and the Center for Visual arts is replete with excellent replicas of the paintings of maestros such as Leonardo Da Vinci. The Museum of Kerala History is a veritable treasure trove, not only to the people of Kerala but to the student of art and social behavior. The names of some topics in the light and sound show are Early People, Nannan of Ezhimala, Senguttavan and Ilango Venmani, Ay Andiran of Pothiyilmala, The Aryan Immigration, St. Thomas, Shankaracharya, Kulasekhara Alwar and Cheraman Perumal Nayanar.
