Kallil Devi Temple

Kallil Devi Temple also called as Kallil Temple is located nearby Kalady which is the birth place of Adi Sankracharya . It is about 22 km from Kalady in Kerala State of India. Kallil in Malayalam means stone and the temple is 9th century old Jain Temple spread over 28 acre of land. . There is a huge rock in the temple area and to reach the main temple one have to climb 120 steps.

The temple is owned by the Kallil Pisharody family. Goddess Durga is the main deity of the temple . Idol of Lord Brhama can be seen carved at the huge rock . The three trinity i.e Brhama, Shiva and Vishnu are also worshiped here. The annual festival of the temple is conducted eight days starting from the ‘Karthika day’ in Vrischikam (November–December). Parshvanath, Mahavira and Padmavati devi are also worshipped here by the local people here.

How To Reach Kallil Devi Temple

Kallil Devi Temple is located about 2 km from Odakkali, on the Aluva Munnar Road and 10 km from Perumbavoor.

By AirCochin International Airport is located about 25Km form here. Cochin Airport is one of the major Airports in India and Kerala State and is attended by many airlines at regular interval.

By Road– To reach the temple one can head to Perumbavoor form where the temple is only 10 km away.

By TrainErnakulam Junction is the major rail-head located about 45 Km from here. Aluva Station is about 25 Km from here.
